About Betty-Shannon
Betty-Shannon Prevatt, MA, LPA received her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from East Carolina University. She attended Meredith College and obtained her Bachelor's degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in Women's Studies. As a part of her training, Betty-Shannon worked with Interact as a Rape Crisis Hospital Responder. She also completed her graduate internship at Cherry Psychiatric Hospital. After receiving her graduate degree she performed neuropsychological testing at Carolina Neuropsychological Service.

Betty-Shannon was thrilled to be able to return to Meredith College to work in the Counseling Center and as an adjunct professor for the Psychology Department. After several years working in the Counseling Center she decided to open a private practice so that she could focus more intently on her passion for the emotional aspect of women's reproductive health. Betty-Shannon finds particular satisfaction working with women and their partners who are experiencing infertility and post-partum mood disorders.

Betty-Shannon serves on the President's Advisory Board for Post Partum Education and Support and offers her time as a medical facilitator for Moms Supporting Moms, a free, postpartum support group. In addition to being a medical facilitator, Betty-Shannon serves in the Speaker's Bureau offering educational presentations to the community. She also works with NC Fertility Connections to bring Mind/Body groups to the area for women and their partners who are experiencing infertility. She has presented about the emotional impact of infertility at SAS and provided a seminar on coping with infertility during the holidays for the Cary chapter of Resolve.
